A Lovely Summer Night

Several years ago, the night before my flight from Tehran to Milan, I met up with a lovely, knowledgeable friend who introduced me, for the very first time, to the concept of Emotional Intelligence. As we strolled along Vali-e-Asr Street, the longest street in the city, with its delightful summer night vibes, I always relished spending time with intelligent individuals who shared knowledge and valued meaningful discussions.

Back then, I had no inkling of how crucial it was to focus on soft skills like active listening and self-awareness. In my quest to deepen my understanding of the subject, I stumbled upon a Tony Robbins video on YouTube, where he discussed how to swiftly change your emotional state.

The central idea is to be aware of your emotional state regularly and be able to adjust it when necessary. For instance, when you become angry during a discussion or feel stressed after an intense workday. Activities like listening to uplifting music or engaging in an intensive workout session can help you shift your state positively. By being in a better state, we become more productive and less susceptible during challenging moments.

This technique may seem obvious, but I can't emphasize enough how many times it has helped me to logically tackle a bad day and uplift my mood. That's why I'm here, sharing the short story of that night, hoping to inspire the concept for others as well.
